Technical School in Vlasotince, with the support of Municipality of Vlasotince and National Employment Service office in Leskovac, organized manifestation „Career Day in Vlasotince“ on Friday, 13th of May in period from 11 to 15 p.m. in Sports and Recreation Centre „Vlasina“.
The goal of the event was promotion of further education and employment. Students of 8th grade of elementary schools had a chance to inform on educational profiles offered by Technical School, students of final grades of VET school colud collect information on possibilities for further education at university level (high schools and faculties), while unemployed young people were allowed to get familiar with companies as potential employers. Participants of the event were companies with which Technical School cooperate in dual education (Gruner Serbian d.o.o. Vlasotince, Elrad Serbia d.o.o, Elrad WS-S Vlasotince, Falke Serbia d.o.o. Leskovac, IGM Mladost Leskovac, HSV d.o.o. Vlasotince, AB Kop Vlasotince), faculties (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Niš, Faculty of Electronic Engineering Niš, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture Niš, Faculty of Philosophy Niš, Faculty of Economy Niš, Faculty of Technology Leskovac, FIMEK Leskovac), as well as high schools (Academy South Serbia: High Business School Leskovac, Department for Agricultural and Food Studies Prokuplje, High School for Educators Bujanovac, Department of Technology and Art Studies Leskovac and Department High Business School Blace; Academy of Technical and Educational Studies: Department Niš, Department Vranje and Department Pirot; ICEPS Leskovac).
Manifestation is realized as part of the activities on career guidance and counselling which Technical School in Vlasotince is implementing within the project of German Development Cooperation „Dialogue on Employment Creation, Initative and Dual Education“. Measures of this project, that is implemented by GIZ in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, are focused among other things on improvement of competencies of members of school team for career guidance and counselling. The aim of these measures is to improve activities of career guidance and counselling both at school level and through cooperation with relevant actors in local community, in order to provide young people in Vlasotince and surrounding with support in making informed decisions that refer to their education and future career.
