Green skills are necessary both for sustainable economic growth and for social transformation – it was concluded at the two-day hybrid conference organized by DECIDE project, “Green Perspectives of Economic and Education Development”, held on 9-10 June.

The focus of the first conference day were perspectives of economic and education development in accordance with the Green Agenda as well as the effects of green transition on education presented by distinguished experts. The panellists talked about the Education Development Strategy in the Republic of Serbia and the EU Resolution on the new strategic framework in the field of education, which unequivocally shows that green and digital transition, through socially just transformation, are the focus of the EU for the next decade.

On the second day of the conference, the further development of dual education in Serbia was discussed – the most important results were presented and the biggest challenges in the current implementation of this education model were identified. Special attention was paid to the topic of establishing regional training centers, which are part of the strategic goals of education development in Serbia. At the final panel, the process of recognition of prior learning was put into focus as an indispensable topic when discussing the development of lifelong learning and education policy.

Aproximately 150 participants followed the conference, online and in-person.
